(01/25/11) Shirley R. (Dobrwado) Kusiak, of Dairy Farm Dr., passed away Monday morning, Jan. 24, 2011 at home with her husband and niece by her side.
Married on Oct. 10, 1959 to Raymond V. Kusiak, beloved husband and best friend for over 51 years. Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Kowal) Dobrwado.
Mrs. Kusiak graduated from Woonsocket High School, attended Hills Business College and was a senior bookkeeper for the RI Nursing Association. She was employed with New England Telephone Company in Woonsocket and in 1992 retired from Almacs Supermarket as store auditor. She loved family, entertaining with cookouts and swim parties and enjoyed traveling the globe with her husband.
Besides her husband she leaves two sisters, Wanda Fandino of Palm City, FL and Jane Sojka of Coventry; a brother, Carl Dobrwado of Millerton, NY and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edward Dobrwado.
Her funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 at 9:00 am from the HENAULT-Gallogly Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington St., Coventry. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. Visitation Friday 9:00 â 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place, West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445 or Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church in her memory would be appreciated.
