(09/24/11) Joseph H. Arpin, 89, of West Warwick, formerly of Johnston passed away Thursday at home. He was the husband of the late M. Louise Arpin for 63 years. Born in Johnston, he was a son of the late Heleodor J. and Eva (Handfield) Arpin.
Mr. Arpin was a Tool Maker for B.A. Ballou Corp. for over 35 years until his retirement. He served with The United States Army in Attu, Alaska during WW II. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in West Warwick. He was an excellent handyman.
Devoted to his family, he was the beloved father of Ronald J. Arpin and his wife Joyce of West Warwick, Richard J. Arpin and his wife Kathleen of Smithfield, Joanne M. Foster of Dayville, CT and William J. Arpin of West Warwick. Cherished grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of six.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:30 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 4-7 pm.
