(09/26/11) BATTISON, John T., PFD (Ret.), 61, of Phillips Ave. Warwick, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 25, 2011 at home.
Born in Providence, beloved son of William M and Jane L. (DuVally) Battison of Warwick. He resided in Florida for several years before returning to Warwick this year.
Mr. Battison was a Providence Firefighter for 23 years before retiring in 1995. He was a Vietnam Marine Corps Veteran and was a motorcycle and boating enthusiast.
Besides his parents he leaves a son, David A. Battison of North Providence; two daughters, Dawn and Amy Battison, both of Providence; two brothers, Andrew Battison of Bristol and William Battison of Warwick; two sisters, Peggy Stephenson of Coventry and Beth Gwillim of East Providence and three grandchildren. He was the former husband of Eileen Battison.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at 8:45 am from the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Michael Church, Oxford St., Providence. Interment will follow with military honors in RI Veterans Cemetery.
