(12/22/11) Beatrice M. (Lemay) Ray, 93, formerly of Aberdeen Street, West Warwick passed away Tuesday at West Shore Health Center. She was the wife of the late John Ray, Jr. Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Azilda (Tessier) Lemay.
Mrs. Ray was active in her community, serving as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the RIDE Program and was a member of the Republican Women\'s Club, The 1918 Club and AARP. She loved to entertain her family at her home, especially on New Year\'s Day. She also enjoyed playing cards and baking.
She was the beloved mother of John Ray, III and his companion Sherry Celini and Shirley McGuire - all of Coventry, Phillip Ray and his partner Christopher Ferrazza of Cranston and the late Patricia Uricco and Cynthia Roy. Cherished grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of twelve. She was the sister of the late Louise Lanoue and Lillian Frenette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 60 Pleasant Street, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call TODAY Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 5-8 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will be private.
