Mary L (Stenger) Camerlin - , RI

(01/01/12) Mary Louise (Stenger) Camerlin, died on December 29, 2011 at home with her daughters. She had been married to the late Armand Camerlin for 21 years. Mary was born on August 27, 1921 in LaSalle, Colorado, the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Clay) Stenger. She is survived by her daughters Norma Hays of Brookfield, CT, Rebecca Dauplaise and her husband Raymond of West Greenwich, Barbara Guertin and her husband Donald of Riverside and Gretchen Leonard of Barrington; a brother Joseph Stenger of Minneapolis, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Agnes Biamonte, Frances Wasser and John Stenger. Mrs. Camerlin retired from Employers\' Mutual Insurance Company after more than twenty years of service. She had been very active with the AMVETS Auxiliary for many years and had served as its president. Mary started the first Brownie troop in Phenix (West Warwick) in 1957. A Senior Girl Scout Leader, she was a camp counselor at Camp Ninigret in South Kingstown, RI. She was also a Ballroom Dancer with Arthur Murray Dance Studio. She had recently been a communicant of Saints John and James Parish in West Warwick and a former parishioner of St. Brendan\'s Church in Riverside for over thirty years. Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am from THE PRATA-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 60 Pleasant Street, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday 6-8 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to West Warwick Assistance Agency, Inc., 1293 Main Street, West Warwick, RI 02893 would be appreciated.
