(02/18/12) Doris M. Phillips, 87, of Boston Street, Coventry, RI passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Coventry Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coventry, RI. Born in Hartford, CT, on January 20, 1925, she was the wife of the late Ernest G. Phillips, Sr. and the daughter of the late Joseph and Amanda (Sampson) Bouvier.
Doris was an inspector for the Stanley Bostitch Co. in East Greenwich, RI for many years before her retirement in 1992. Previously to that she worked as a lace winder at various lace mills in the Pawtuxet Valley area. She is survived by three children; Ernest G. Phillips, Jr., Betty A. Rossi, and Richard F. Phillips, a sister; Irene Calmy, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two brothers; Arthur Bouvier and Rudy Bouvier
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm from the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI.
