(02/19/12) William H. Coon, Sr., 75, of Coventry, passed away Tuesday at Brentwood Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Janet P. (Fairbanks) Coon. Born in North Kingstown, he was a son of the late Edmund and Mildred Coon.
Mr. Coon was a Supply Clerk for the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corp. in both Quonset and New London, CT until his retirement. He had served in The United States Army during the Korean War. He loved going fishing with his late son.
He was the beloved father of Susan M. Flowers and her husband John of Exeter and the late William H. Coon, Jr. and Janet P. Coon. Loving grandfather of Allyssa P. Coon of Coventry. Caring brother of several siblings.
His funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to The Alzheimer\'s Association, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
