(03/05/13) Charles E. Carr, 73, of Warwick passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn J. (Giroux) Carr for 51 years. Born in Swansea, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Edward and Cecilia (McCarthy) Carr.
Mr. Carr was a Police Officer for the Warwick Police Department from 1963 until his retirement in 1983. He had also served in The United States Army. He was a graduate of Salve Regina College and was a member of the Warwick F.O.P., Good Sam Club and the Narragansett Sam\'s Club.
He is also survived by his loving children Craig C. Carr and his wife Charlene of Nashua, NH, Lt. Charles E. Carr, II (E.P.F.D.) and his wife Suzanne of West Greenwich and Coleen J. Amore and her husband Scott of Warwick; his adored grandchildren Caitlin Amore, Ashley Amore, Abigail Carr and Cameron Carr; his caring siblings Ronald Carr of Berkley, MA, Edward Carr of San Jose, CA and Dorothy Correia of Florida; and his devoted dog \"Maggie.\" He was the brother of the late Douglas Carr, Thomas Carr and Sally Caron.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Thursday from 4-7 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Funeral Service and burial in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private.
