Born in Providence, a daughter of Irene A. (Bykowy) Wilde of West Warwick and the late Leslie F. Wilde.
Linda was an office administrator at the Veterans Hospital in Providence for 30 years. She enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, reading and was very artistic.
Besides her mother she leaves two sons, Jon G. Miller of Coventry and Eric L. Miller of Manville; a sister, Patricia O. Stroker of Port St. Lucie, FL and six nieces and nephews.

(10/09/13) Tatro, Joseph G. \"Gerry\", 95, a foreman for Federal Products for 42 years, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Eva L. (Bernard) Tatro. He was also the husband of the late Marion (Kirkland) Tatro. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Catherine (Phipps) Tatro.
Besides his wife Eva, he is survived by two daughters: Nancy Kuipers and her husband Chet of Coventry and Karen Beaudoin and husband Peter of North Kingstown; three grandchildren: James Kuipers, Joseph Bouchard and Susan Bouchard and two great granddaughters. He is also survived by three stepsons: John, Mark and Craig, his wife Kathleen, Ruginski, seven step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a brother George E. Tatro.

(10/13/13) Perry, Agnes M. (Horan) âBig Mamaâ, 79, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at RI Hospitalâs Jane Brown Building. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late James P. and Rose (Adlum) Horan.
Agnes was a member of Saints John and Paul Parish and the Red Hat Society. She had a special place for all animals in her heart.
Big Mama is survived by her four children: Daniel Perry and his wife Donna of Cranston, Ronald Perry and his wife Kathy of Exeter, Lori Ann Rossi of Coventry and John Perry and his wife Michelle of Coventry; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sisiter-in-law Virginia Horan. She is predeceased by her siblings: James Horan, Rosemary Horan and John Horan.

(10/15/13) Philip Edward March, 90, of Meredith Drive, a resident of Coventry, RI for fifty-five years, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at home. Born on December 25, 1922 in Warwick, RI, he was married to Gertrude M. (Pease) March. They were married for fifty-five years. He was the son of the late Winfred and Ethel (Sawyer) March.
Mr. March was a commercial artist, designer and art teacher. He was also a portrait, landscape and mural artist. He worked as a commercial artist for Benny\'s for thirty-five years.
Philip was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII with General Patton\'s Third Army in the European Theater, France, Belgium, and Germany. He was a soldier with the 204th Field Artillery.
He attended the School of Practical Art, and the Museum of Fine Art with classes in Boston and also attended the R.I. School of Design. He was a member of the Providence Water Color Society and the Valley Art Association. He was a fifty-two year member of Beneficient Congregational Church where he was a deacon and choir member. He also belonged to the Coventry Senior Center.
Philip is survived by a daughter; Cynthia R. Deluca, two grandchildren; Robert and Vincent Lowell and a great grandson; Evan Lowell.

(10/15/13) Gabrielle E. (St. Pierre) Needham, 90, of Warwick passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late James E. Needham and the late John S. Needham. Born in Providence, she was one of nine children born to the late Edouard and Amelia (Rondeau) St. Pierre.
Mrs. Needham was an assembler in the jewelry industry. She was active for many years in the Emblem Club and volunteered with the A.L.S. Association.
She was the beloved mother of Beatrice A. MacArthur of Warwick and Mary Jane Wakeford of Colorado Springs, CO. Loving grandmother of Tracy Burgeson of Colorado Springs, CO. Cherished great grandmother of Nicholas and Madeline. She is also survived by her extended family, Anne Rose and Madalyn McGunagle who lovingly called her \"The Deeham\".

Born in Providence, daughter of Maria A. (Brouillette) Panowich of West Warwick and the late Harold E. Panowich. She resided in Coventry for many years.
Mrs. Walsh was employed at Centreville Bank for many years. She enjoyed needle point, crafting and spending time with her family.
Besides her mother she leaves her children, Ann-Marie Walsh of East Greenwich, Michael J. Walsh of Warwick and Brian J. Walsh of Coventry. She was the former wife of Joseph M. Walsh.

(10/16/13) Peter Kirk McKnight, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2013 with his wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Joan-Sandra (Hayman) McKnight.
Born in Warwick, RI, he was the son of the late William and Mercy (Shirlaw) McKnight. Peter was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Korean War. An alumnus of RI School of Design, he worked as an industrial designer for Ciba-Geigy Corp. in Cranston, RI for 30 years followed by 7 years at APV Crepaco in Attleboro, MA.
Peter was a devout follower of the Lord. A former member of First Presbyterian Church of Providence and current member of Greenwood Community Church he served as an Elder, Deacon, Trustee and member of the choir. In his youth, he was a member of Demolay. He was also involved with the University Glee Club of RI and the Barber Shop Quartet.
Throughout his life, in addition to his passion for music, Peter loved to work with his hands creating detailed finish work on his home and building beautiful models and furniture pieces.
Besides his wife, he was a devoted father to his two sons, Andrew McKnight (Debby) of Foster and David McKnight (Pamela) of Chagrin Falls, OH. He was a wonderful grandfather of 7: Nicholas, Kevin, Leanne, Elsa, Will, Nathan and Maris. He was the brother of the late William McKnight of Irvine, CA and Shirley Cruickshank of Florence, SC.

Warren was the owner/operator of W.L. Fuller Incorporated of Warwick, RI. He was an avid movie watcher and loved being on Johnson\'s Pond with his water toys.

Carlin, 92, formerly of Cumberland and most recently of Cortland Place Assisted Living, Greenville, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Hilda (Mason) Carlin. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late John and Jessie (McNally) Carlin, he resided in Cumberland for many years. John was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. He was vice-president in Charge of Operations at Louis Regnier Associates, Providence until retiring in 1985, and was previously a sales representative for Royal Typewriter, Providence for 20 years. John enjoyed being involved in the Arnolds Mills 4th of July Parade Association, and also as a volunteer firefighter with the Arnolds Mills Fire Department. He leaves a son, John F. Carlin, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Surry, Maine; four daughters, Kathleen Cournoyer and her husband, Andre of Narragansett, Suzanne Baker and her husband, Robert of Bar Harbor, Maine, Christine Celone and her husband, Peter of Tiverton and Elizabeth McCarthy and her husband, Daniel of Cumberland; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. (10/18/13) Evangelia Peter (Valmas) Raptakis, 82, of Coventry, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence, RI. She was the wife of the late Paraskevas D. Raptakis. Evangelia was born on October 30, 1930 in Andros, Greece and was the daughter of Leonidas and Frangesca (Valmas). She married Paraskevas Raptakis in Greece.
Mrs. Raptakis came to the United States in 1958. She worked in the family businesses, the Three Star Restaurant and Venus Pizza alongside her husband and family members.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Dimitrios P. Raptakis, and his wife Karen Raptakis of East Stroudsburg, PA, and State Senator Leonidas P. Raptakis and his wife Dr. Donna Raptakis and her grandchildren, Alexandra and Nicholas Raptakis of Coventry, RI. She was the sister of the late Maria Kyrtatas.

(10/18/13) Coventry - Robert W. Lyons, 56, of Rathbun Street, died at home on Friday, October 18, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Gail L. (Anderson) Lyons with whom he celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on April 28, 2013.
Born in Warwick, the son of the late Wallace E. and Dorothy (Wells) Lyons, he was a lifelong resident of Coventry living in the same home all of his life. He was a heavy equipment operator and the owner of R.W. Lyons Excavating Company, a Coventry business started by his father.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his four daughters: Jennifer E. Lyons and her fiancé Kevin Kelley, Jessica L. Phillips and her husband David, Jamie Lyons-Dawkins and her husband Matthew and Robbie S. Lyons. Jennifer & Jessica are twins and all four daughters live in Coventry. He was a loving âPapaâ to his granddaughter Mattie Rose Dawkins. He is survived also by three sisters: Joan Lamont of Coventry, Jane Payette of MA and Deborah Pringles of Coventry and by several nieces & nephews.
Robâs family is remembering him as \"the best Dad\" there was; as a great role model and teacher and as a well-respected businessman.

Nordquist. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Harold S. and Mildred D. (Nelson) Johnson.
Mrs. Nordquist was an educator for the Warwick School System, C.C.R.I., Sylvan Learning Center and Johnson & Wales University. She served as the Director of Music at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Warwick for many years. She also served as organist at other local churches for several years.
She was the beloved mother of Alan W. Nordquist and his wife Tammy of Mystic, Connecticut. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Genevieve R (Barrows) Ralph - , RI
(10/22/13) Coventry - Genevieve R. Ralph, 86, died peacefully at home on October 18, 2013. She was a selfless woman who enjoyed a tremendously positive outlook on life right to the end. She was the widow of the late Kenneth L. Ralph, who predeceased her in 1974, and daughter of the late Anna Dorothea (Muddiman) Barrows Sullivan and Everett Barrows. Born in Providence, she resided in Coventry for the last 46 years.
A 1948 graduate of Roger Williams General Hospital School of Nursing, Genevieve had a rewarding career as a registered nurse beginning in obstetrics nursing at Roger Williams and Miriam Hospital, and ending as the head nurse of the extended cardiac care unit (ECCU) of Kent County Memorial Hospital, from which she retired in 1993, after 25 years of service. She was a strong advocate for her patients and staff alike on ECCU, and earned the title âThe General,â used with reverence, by the physicians whose patients were on her floor.
Genevieveâs leadership extended to her volunteer work as well. In 1984, she began training with the New England Rural Leadership Program (NERL), which sought to develop individual and group leadership skills to promote public issue problem solving. After completing the program in 1986, she continued to work with NERL focusing on motivating senior citizens to take responsibility for solving the problems facing them in society and participating in the political changes needed to improve their lives. In 1993, she was selected by Senator Claiborne Pell to be his senior citizen intern in Washington, DC. She also worked to launch the Aging 2000 Program in RI, a bottom-up, grassroots pilot program to reform health care for the older people of RI.
Genevieve was very active for the last 20 years of her life with Hamilton House, a learning exchange in Providence for older persons, serving as its vice president for 2 years, and president for 3 years. At Hamilton House she took her first computer classes, and wrote her first short story in a creative writing class. She continued with the writing group, and the short stories she wrote over the next 15 years became the basis for her book, Tender Words, published in 2013, by Mary C. Sullivan.
Genevieve is survived by her two children: Patricia Ralph Fowler and her husband Gordon of Bryn Mawr, PA and New Canaan, CT, and James Kenneth Ralph of Cranston. She was a loving grandmother of 4 grandchildren: Genevieve and Gordon âMichaelâ Fowler, and Chelsea and Brooke Ralph.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 from 4-7pm at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave, West Warwick. A memorial service of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, October 26 at St. Martinâs Episcopal Church, 50 Orchard Ave., Providence. John P. âJohnnyâ Smith, Jr. 40, of West Warwick Avenue died Monday at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, a son of John P. Smith of Cranston and the late Pauline (Pichette) Smith, he had lived in Providence for many years before recently moving to West Warwick. Mr. Smith was a supervisor at Sullivan Tire for the past five years and also worked for the Garden Hills Deli for many years. He was a long time Rhode Island Little League umpire and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Besides his father, he leaves a brother, Gregory S. Smith and his wife Andria of Warwick and a sister, Tammy M. Lamarsh of Warwick. He was the uncle of Jacklyn Lamarsh, Jessica Lamarsh, Matthew Lamarsh, Ola LaRose, Angela MacCarthy, Cody J. Smith, Jailynne LaRose and Sophia MacCarthy.

(10/24/13) James A. Darcy, 88, of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Westerly Health Center. He was the beloved husband of Norma (Rowland) Darcy for 60 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Arthur and Florence (Leary) Darcy.
Mr. Darcy graduated from Aldrich HS in Warwick 1943. He was a WW II Veteran of Company C 250th Engineer Combat Battalion serving in the European theater and responsible for the Building of the \"Friendship Bridge\" over the Elbe River. He continued to serve his country as a civilian working for the U.S. Defense Mapping Agency, Army Topographical Command in West Warwick, retiring in 1984.
He was the loving father of Kim Darcy of Warwick and Jay A. Darcy of Windham, NH. Cherished grandfather of Teryn Austin and Taylor Darcy. He was the brother of the late Brendan Darcy, Muriel Carey, Mary Devereaux and Patricia Powers.

(11/20/13) Dennis J. Diffley, Sr., 68 of Coventry, RI, joined his Savior in Paradise on Friday, November 15, 2013 after a battle with lung cancer. He leaves his wife Carol of forty-four years, his sons Louis Diffley and his wife Heidi and Dennis Diffley, Jr. and his wife Fran, six grandchildren; Christopher, Sean and Kaylee Diffley and Chelsea, Aaron and Tara Muniz, three sisters; Patricia Carpenter, Kate Diffley and Colleen Achin, and a brother; Timothy Diffley. He was the son of the late James P. and Kathleen (Marker) Diffley. He was the brother of the late Terrence Diffley, Mickey Diffley, Daniel Diffley and Kevin Diffley.
Dennis was the owner and founder of Dennis Diffley Drain Services since 1976. He was a good and honorable man who loved his wife and family and spent his life working his business and always believed in giving his best and treating people the way he wanted to be treated. He loved the Boston Red Sox, The N.E. Patriots, movies and travel.

James F Rideout - , RI
(11/19/13) Rideout, James âJimâ F., 64, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. He was the devoted husband of Lori Ann (Cardoza) Rideout of Coventry. Born in Malden, MA he was the son of the late James F. and Alice E. (French) Rideout.
Jim was employed by United States Gypsum Company for 41 years. He was in the United States Army and was a former member of Valley Country Club.
Besides his wife Lori, he is survived by a brother Larry Rideout and his wife Patty of Woburn, MA; four nieces: Kristen, Lisa, Nicole and Aimee; three step children: Ronald K. Morales of Coventry, Lauren A. Morales of Cranston and Randy E. Morales of Coventry and three grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother Rod Rideout.
A funeral service will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Saturday, November 23 at 9 AM followed with interment at RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter with Military Honors. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-8 PM. Flowers are kindly omitted.

John J Padien, Jr. - , RI
(11/22/13) John Joseph Padien, Jr., 90, of Warwick, died peacefully Thursday, November 21, 2013 surrounded by his wife of 65 years, R. Claire Padien, and his family. Born 1923 in Providence, he was the son of the late John J. Padien, Sr., and Lena Padien (McCurdy). Raised in Mount Pleasant, Jack attended Blessed Sacrament School, LaSalle Academy and Rhode Island State College. He was a stellar athlete and was named an All-State Goaltender in ice hockey as a high school freshman.
In WWII, Jack served in the Pacific aboard the USS Bowers DE 637. He was decorated with the Philippine Liberation Medal for combat in the Battle of Leyte Gulf, awarded the Purple Heart and 4 Battle Stars for injuries sustained in a Kamikaze attack that killed or wounded more than half the shipâs complement.
Jack worked for Acme Cotton Products for 26 year and retired in 1984 as its Vice President. Jack was a Disabled American Veteran, a member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association and a communicant of St. Catherine of Sienna Parish for 56 years where he served on the Parish Council and as a Eucharistic Minister.
Preceded in death by sisters Rita Branco and Doris Matteson and a daughter Mary, he is survived by his loving wife, Claire, his children, John J. Padien, III (Wendy), Mary Anne J. Padien (J. Douglas Havens), William B. Padien, (Allison Brown Padien), Claire Marie Padien (Russell Berdoff), Paul P. Padien (Susan), Daniel J. Padien (Rosemary Foster) and Anne Marie Hale (Michael); 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, Sunday November 24 from 2:00-5:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday November 25 at 10:30 AM at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Tania R (Raybert) Tierney - , RI
(11/22/13) CUMBERLAND â Tania (Raybert) Tierney, 92, of Old Diamond Hill Road, died Friday, November 22, at Emerald Bay Manor, Cumberland. She was the wife of the late William J. F. Tierney.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Marion (White) Raybert, she had lived in Cumberland for the past eighty years.
Mrs. Tierney worked for many years at Miller-George in Providence before retiring, and had also worked with the Office of Naval Intelligence and the Treasury Department.
She was a 1939 graduate of Cumberland High School, received her B.S. and M.A. from Boston University, and her Ph.D. from Columbia University.
She was very active with the Slater Park Lawn Bowling, and wrote many articles for the Wall Street Journal under a pseudonym. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by numerous second cousins, including her caregiver, L. Richard Savage of Cumberland.
A Service of Remembrance & Thanksgiving will be held Monday, November 25, at 4:30 p.m. in BELLOWS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited and may call prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. Private burial will take place in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls.
