(01/29/15) Thomas Joseph Savoie, 59, of Warwick, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Kent County Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of Sandra M. (Butkiewicus) Savoie.
Born in Cranston on November 1, 1955, Thomas was a son of the late Alfred and Yvonne (Houle) Savoie.
Tom was currently employed as the Business Agent for Local 94 Carpenters Union where he served as the Business Agent and Financial Secretary. Tom also served as a Vice President of the RI Family Shelter and assisted the RI Jobs for Justice and many community action groups. He was a Eucharistic Minister and Parish Auditor at St. Francis of Assisi Church and a member of the Kennedy Council Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by his two devoted children: Diana J. Savoie of Somerville, MA and Brian T. Savoie of Port Washington, NY; and two brothers: Alfred Savoie and his wife Barbara of Bradenton, FL and Raymond Savoie of Kissimmee, FL. He was predeceased by his brother: James Savoie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95) on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1 PM â 4 PM. Burial will be private.
