(01/13/11) Cumberland â George A. Walsh, 78, of Pound Road died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Loretta C. (Kiernan) Walsh.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Arthur and Madeline (Dooley) Walsh, he had lived in Cumberland for the past 31 years.
Mr. Walsh worked at GTE Corporation, Central Falls for 45 years, retiring as supervisor in 1994.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one brother, William J. Walsh of North Attleboro, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
