(12/05/11) Veronica (Mahon) Watson, 89, of Warwick, formerly of Coventry, died peacefully on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Pawtuxet Village Nursing Home. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late John Mahon and Minnie (Jollie) Mahon. She was the wife of the late William H. Watson.
Mrs. Watson was employed as a Secretary at the Pharmacy of Kent Hospital for 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Christian Hill Community Church and enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
She leaves her beloved son, David A. Watson, Sr. and his wife Nancy of Warwick. Cherished grandmother of Leah, D.J., Olivia, Sean, Kara, and great-grandmother of Nora and Ren. She was the sister of the late Ruth Wiggins, Mildred Camerano, Frances Riebe, Marjorie Ward, Jean Shaw, and Jacqueline Cangiano.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 11:00 am in Christian Hill Community Church, 56 Tiogue Avenue, West Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Boulevard, East Providence, RI 02914 will be appreciated.
